Alison Doody

Alison Doody has been an Irish model and actor from 11 November 1996. Her debut in a feature film was in a minor role in her debut role in the Bond film A View to a Kill. (1985). In the following film she was portrayed as a Nazi-sympathising Archaeologist Elsa Schneider (Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade 1989). Siobhan Doovan played Charlotte in Taffin in 1988 and Rebecca Flannery starred in Major League II in 1994. Approached by a photographer Doody began to model and subsequently a career in commercial modelling. Doody was adamantly against fashion, thongs and glamour when she was modeling. She was cast in a minor part as Jenny Flex for 1985's A View to a Kill following the fact that she was noticed by the casting director. Doody's name was included in John Willis Screen World Vol. 12 which features the most promising new actors from 1986. 38. At just 18 as she played the film, Doody was, and still is one of the smallest Bond girl who has appeared in a film. A Prayer for the Dying (1997), starring Mickey Rourke, also featured an unimportant role in the form of IRA Siobhan. Doody had an unspoken role in the film as Archibald Craven's wife Lilias when she appeared in the film adaptation of his fantasy, 1987's version from The Secret Garden. In a Jim Henson fantasy episode The Storyteller in 1988, Doody portrayed Sapsorrow alongside John Hurt Dawn French Jennifer Saunders. The actress acted alongside Pierce Brosnan in the film Taffin (1988) before she took possibly her most famous role ever as Austrian Nazi-sympathiser and archaeologist the Dr. Elsa Schneider in 1989's Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade playing opposite Harrison Ford. Doody has been in three films with James Bond actors. Doody played alongside Jonathan Pryce as Hitler Diaries which was a British mini-series based on Hitler Diaries. She subsequently relocated to Hollywood. The decision was made to replace Cybill Shepard in the role of L'Oreal spokeswoman. She went on to star opposite Charlie Sheen as Flannery, his agent and girlfriend on the film Major League II. Doody's return to the big screen came in 2003. Michael Caine played Doody in the role of a brief. The year 2004, she was in the film alongside Patrick Swayze alongside a TV adaptation of King Solomon's Mines. Also Doody appeared as a character in Benjamin's Struggle (2005), a pamphlet describing the Holocaust. Doody had a minor role in Danny Dyer's film The Rapture (2010). The Clinic, a medical drama on RTE. The Asphyx was her 2011 remake. In 2011 she began the first season of two in the E4 comedy drama Beaver Falls playing Pam Jefferson. She appeared in We Still Kill the Old Way (2014). The 21st of November, 2018, she was awarded by the Almeria Tierra de Cine award and she received an award in the Almeria Walk of Fame.
