Marcia Harvey

Marcia Harvey is an African-American writer, best known for being the ex-wife of the comedic legend and television host, Steve Harvey. She decided to keep her private life private and out of the spotlight. Although Steve had not yet reached anywhere close to the success which he is enjoying now and they were married for 14 years. It is unknown what caused the breakup, but Hollywood has heard rumors about the split. Some blame it on Steve Harvey's unsavory behavior and others attribute it to his decision to pursue to pursue a different path in life, such as comedy. The tragedy of her life can be traced back to the circumstance that Steve had to leave her and two daughters while she was pregnant with their third baby. Despite all the struggles she has carved out an impressive career out of fashion design as well as writing. She began her career at an outlet store known as "Saks Fifth Avenue". Steve saw her at a reception party for a mutual friend a few years later. They were in love and they got married in 1980. The couple had twin girls in 1982. Steve worked as an insurance salesman. Steve was disillusioned with his work and decided to pursue a career as an entertainer, particularly stand-up comedy. Marcia and Steve were in a lot of disagreements and later reports suggested that they were beginning to split up. Marcia Harvey was famous for her divorce from Steve Harvey and marriage. Although divorce proceedings for Steve Harvey in 1994 were kept secret, it's clear that Marcia Harvey was expecting their third child at the time they broke up. Marcia finally filed for divorce in 1993. Marcia needed to appear before the court after her divorce as well as Steve Harvey's denial of child support and alimony payments.
