Rachel Anne McAdams
Rachel Anne McAdams was born on November
17, 1978, in London, Ontario, Canada, to Sandra Kay (Gale), a nurse and Lance
Frederick McAdams who is truck driver and furniture moving. She is English,
Welsh and Irish-born. Rachel became involved with acting as a teenager and by
13 she was starring in Shakespearean productions at summer theater camps. She
then graduated with honors with an honors BFA degree in Theater from York
University. Following her first appearance in the episode of Disney's The
Famous Jett Jackson (1998), she co-starred in the Canadian television series
Slings and Arrows (2003) in a comedy-drama focusing on the struggles and trials
of the Shakespearean theater troupe, and received a Gemini award for her
performance in 2003.Her performance in the role of Regina George in the hit
comedy Mean Girls (2004) instantly put her on the short list of the top
Hollywood's young actors. In the following film, she starred opposite Ryan
Gosling as the romantic drama adaptation of Nicholas Sparks' bestseller The
Notebook (2004). This was a huge hit at the box-office and became the most
loved romantic drama for an audience of young people. Following the film's
production, McAdams and Gosling became romantically involved and dated through
mid-2007. McAdams and Gosling were soon together and began to get married.
McAdams was seen in The Lucky Ones (2007) and State of Play (2008) and State of
Play (2008), respectively. She also starred in The Time Traveler's Wife(2009)
and Robert Downey Jr. in Guy Ritchie's international hit Sherlock Holmes
(2009). McAdams was the determined producer for Morning Glory (2010). She also
was the fiancee with a materialistic character Owen Wilson in Woody Allen’s
Midnight in Paris (2011). McAdams returned to romantic drama in The Vow (2012),
where she played opposite Channing Tatum. McAdams stars in Terrence Malick’s To
the Wonder (2012) with Ben Affleck and Noomi Rapacace in Brian De Palma’s
thriller Passion (2012).
