Motion recording and voice work were as well for Tess in the videogame by Naughty Dog The Last of Us. Wersching was born and was raised in St. Louis, Missouri. She graduated from Crossroads College Preparatory School, St. Louis' Central West End in the year 1995. She competed in Irish dance in her early years and was a member of the St. Louis Celtic Dancers. Millikin University awarded her a Bachelor in Fine Arts in Musical Theatre in 1999.
